Umi
When Cyclone Social reaches out to you about sushi and social media, it’s only appropriate to jump up and down a little bit. Last week, the igersfortwayne team was approached by Cyclone Social with an awesome idea- gather a group of local photographers for an evening of delicious Umi seafood and sushi, photography, and community involvement. Obviously we were thrilled to be a part of this and said “oh heck yeah.”
“Along with great seafood, Umi Fort Wayne also features amazing beef, pork, and chicken, noodle dishes, and innovative sushi and Japanese dishes. Umi Fort Wayne also features a full bar serving beer, wine, sake, craft cocktails, and fine Japanese whiskeys. We look forward to offering delicious food and beverages, immaculate service, in an enjoyable atmosphere to all of our guests.” – Umi Fort Wayne’s Website
Now I love sushi, but I had never been to Umi because I just assumed they were super pricey– this is coming from a girl who lives off of grocery store sushi– but I was honestly so pleasantly surprised by their range of prices for their selection of fresh seafood and sushi. I got the “Uncle Drew” drink and fam, I could’ve had five more because it was so good and it was probably about 90 degrees that day (but mainly because it was so good). For dinner, the colorful pink and green Lobster Salad Roll caught my eye, and it was as heavenly as it was beautiful. The staff and servers at Umi were professional, fun, and knowledgeable– I may have asked our server “let’s pretend I don’t know anything about sushi–what would you recommend to a newcomer like myself?” For dessert, we had a sampling of their creme brûlée, fried banana ice cream, and chocolate cheesecake and wow wow wow. I’m not saying you have to go all out and get drinks, dinner, and dessert, but I’m not not saying it. You can stay inside to enjoy the ambiance of a high-scale restaurant or head outside to their patio to enjoy this summer weather. Either way, you’re in for a treat.
Will I visit Umi again? Absolutely. Would I recommend Umi to friends and family? You bet.
