Paul + Shannon, North Carolina Wedding
This North Carolina wedding was one for the books. From the stunning ceremony at the Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral, to the bridal party portraits at the North Carolina Museum of Art, to the coolest reception ever at the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences. Paul and Shannon, ya’ll done real good.
The love these two have for each other is so obvious and bright–it’s absolutely infectious. When we met last March for their engagement session, it was clear that these two were meant for each other in every conceivable way, and to see their relationship grow and blossom and come to this day—perfect.
Their wedding was one of the first weddings at the newly constructed Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral—the largest cathedral in North Carolina and the fifth largest in the United States. One of the most important things for Paul and Shannon was to have their traditional Catholic mass in front of their closest friends and family, and this cathedral filled with gorgeous natural light and beautiful architectural details was the perfect setting for Paul and Shannon’s wedding day.
After the ceremony, we all made our way to the North Carolina Museum of Art for lunch and wow, wow, wow. This museum is an absolutely must-see and it was awesome that Paul and Shannon made sure they’re guests had ample time to explore after lunch and before the reception festivities. The colorfully painted exhibit walls, historic paintings, statues, reflecting pond created such cool and unique backdrops for our bridal party portraits and it was such a cool experience that I’m so honored to have been a part of.
I’ve been obsessed with the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences since Paul and Shannon talked with me about their wedding plans, and it was so freaking cool. And who doesn’t want to dance with dinosaurs? We explored the museum before dinner, got to know some fun facts about Salamanders, stood next to a towering Megatherium (giant prehistoric sloth), and danced the night away.
Paul and Shannon, you two are such kind, amazing, funny, smart, and genuine people, and I am so happy and honored that you allowed us to be a part of your big day. I’m so excited to follow your life together as husband and wife and I know your adventure is going to be filled with love and laughter and hopefully more sloths.
