Allie + Josh, Fort Wayne Indiana Wedding
Meant to be. Those are the best words to describe Josh and Allie.
Sean and I first met Josh through our Visual Communication and Design degree program at IPFW, and we both had the joy of getting to know Allie during their engagement session last year. These two love each other so dang much and it’s a joy to be witness to that love.
The Perfect Fall Day
I don’t know what kind of deal they struck up with mother nature or who sold their soul to what, but Josh and Allie had the perfect fall weather for their wedding day. The slight cool breeze, warm sunshine, and not a hint of rain in the sky. While Allie and her girls got ready for the day at Josh and Allie’s adorable home (decorated appropriately for the upcoming Halloween festivities), Josh and his boys spent some time together eatin’ and drinkin’ at Salsa Grille and Mad Anthony’s Brewing Company. Getting ready for your wedding in the comfort of your own home and hanging out with your best friends beforehand — sounds like the perfect start to any wedding day.
Also can we take a moment to appreciate the beautiful floral arrangements for the bouquets and boutonnieres? I’m still obsessed with the incorporation of yellow sunflowers, white and deep plum dahlias, and the soft surrounding greenery. Absolute perfection for Allie, Josh, and their bridal party.
Bridal Party Shoutout
We took a short drive to Foster Park for the First Looks and bridal portraits and again, perfect fall weather for this perfect day. Allie, in a stunning ivory ballgown long-sequined-sleeved Oleg Cassini gown. Josh, looking dapper as ever in his suit and boutonniere. The light, the setting, the couple, the friends — all coming together to celebrate these two cuties in love.
Fast forward a short stroll to Wunderkammer Company where we found some more beautiful art. We all laughed while posing in front of Matt Plett’s Don’t Give Up mural and made tongue-in-cheek jokes about not giving up on marriage, as one does during one’s wedding day. Side note, the public art movement happening right now in downtown Fort Wayne is a photographer’s dream and I’m super crazy grateful for our beautiful city.
As a photographer, I strive to capture real and honest moments. I want the photos to reflect the authenticity of the moment. So when bridal parties are comfortable enough to goof around and act like their true selves, I freaking love it. To Josh and Allie’s bridal party, I love all y’all. I love that you rubbed all up on Josh’s head. I love that you all embraced your silly side and had fun on this wedding day! I love that you guys gave suggestions on poses and locations and were so involved and caring. I love how much you all love Allie and Josh and made sure that their day went off without a hitch. God bless ya.
Fort Wayne Love
I love downtown Fort Wayne, and I absolutely love that Josh and Allie’s wedding had so many great spots incorporated into their big day. From Southwood Park, Salsa Grille, Mad Anthony’s, Foster Park, Wunderkammer Company, Bravas, Shigs ‘n Pit, Sassie Cakes, and all the way to The Philmore on Broadway.
I Do
Josh and Allie’s wedding was exactly one week before my own wedding to Sean, my second-shooter and fiancé at the time (he’s now my hubby). So when Josh and Allie started reading their written vows to each other, I teared up a little bit. Love is beautiful, and two people finding each other and being the perfect match is just awesome.
During the Maid of Honor and Best Man speeches, we heard about the beginnings of Josh and Allie’s relationship, how it blossomed and grew, and Josh’s experience of being stuck at the top of Cedar Point’s Top Thrill Dragster.
When the dance floor opened up, man did it open up. In all my days, I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed more enthusiastic groomsmen. The bridal party serenaded the bride and groom, the flower girls danced their little hearts out, we all did the Cupid Shuffle, and it was a blast.
Allie and Josh, thank you so much for your friendship and allowing Sean and I to be a part of your special day. You two are somethin’ special and we can’t wait to see where your life together takes you.
