“Why spend money on a big wedding when you can get married at City Hall on a Tuesday during your lunch break? We spent that money on ice cream.”
I first met Madeleine and Ross (and their cat Eleanor) during their couples session last November at Bicentennial Woods, so when I received an email from Madeleine saying that she and Ross had eloped, I was ecstatic! However, when I kept reading her email and learned that the only photos from their special day were on her phone that had been stolen that same day, I was heartbroken for them.
The heat wave and subsequent storms delayed our road trip plans slightly, but we ended up having the perfect day for Madeline and Ross’s downtown Lansing Michigan session! They both wore the same outfits they wore for their Tuesday afternoon nuptials, and I honestly couldn’t have asked for better couple.
Madeleine and Ross are currently hiking the 220 mile Michigan Shore-to-Shore trail, all to raise money for The United Way of Genesee County and their efforts to bring clean water to Flint, Michigan. “We know that shore-to-shore, all Michiganders deserve clean water—regardless of their zip code, income, or skin color.”
